Zenin Simon PLAYs IT STRANGE |

Sometime in 2007 Zenin came along with his latest groovy guitar riff and said he wanted to develop it into a song. We went through some theory, figured out the key of the riff and added some chords - the ideas were all Zenin's and I pointed him in the right direction.
The result is a 9th placing in the 2007 PLAY IT STRANGE nationwide songwriting competition.
The song DEVIL WOMAN was written by Peter Allen, and the chords/riff written by Zenin. Well done, and to get 9th from several hundred entries is fabulous - rock on Zenin.

| I couldn't resist and bought a double-neck again!
I had one years ago, but sold it to buy something else long forgotten. So when I saw this, I couldn't resist. Every student wants to have a play...
I take it to most gigs with LAPSE OF REASON and sometimes, if the audience is right, we'll play Stairway to Heaven...

| At a party in 2007 some folks wanted a song, so I asked my daughter Samantha (8yrs) if she would be kind enough to get my Ovation Acoustic from the car.
Sure enough she went and got it, but unfortunately dropped it and snapped the neck from the body.
I've had this guitar since my Dad bought it for 21st birthday many years ago (not that many really!).
Fortunately it was repairable and my insurance company was kind enough to cover the costs. The Ovation's back at home now and, its great to be playing it again!

10 Yr old Kiko recorded and released on CD |

| In a fantastic effort one of my students, Kiko, worked with the teachers at his school and formed a band called HOT FUZZ. They practiced heaps and recorded 3 songs, then released a CD. The papers came around, took all their photo's and gave them a writeup.
Well done Kiko - all that practice has paid off!

Change of Name for the band |

| After much debate, we decided to change the name of our band to: LAPSE OF REASON.
Previously, we were called "The Savages" but too many folks were automatically thinking we were heavy-metal or something nasty... which we're not!
